Chiltern Ladies Golf League

Everyone who plays in the Chiltern League competition enjoys the experience because, although we all like to win it, it is a friendly league enjoyed by a truly fabulous group of ladies. From this year the format of the league has changed so that all participating clubs play each other, either home or away, between March and October. Points are awarded according to the results (see below) and the overall winner is awarded the Chiltern League Cup. Then, at the end of the season (usually mid-October) all of the clubs field a team of eight ladies to compete in our own version of the Ryder Cup.

Format of matches

Each match comprises six players per team (three pairs) playing Greensomes, with combined handicaps calculated from the Greensomes Chart.

Rules

Each club nominates a Captain who chooses the teams and notifies the Results Secretary of match results as soon as possible via email.

If matches cannot be played due to inclement weather, both clubs will try to replay the match during the season, notifying the Results Secretary of the revised date. If a rematch is not possible, both clubs will be awarded 2 points.

In the very unlikely event that a fixture cannot be played or completed for any reason other than weather, if both clubs agree, an alternative date can be arranged and the Results Secretary informed. If this is not possible, or if the offended club does not agree, 6.5 points will be awarded to the offended club if it was the home club, or 7.5 points if it was the away club. In the case of a dispute, the matter will be discussed at the next full Committee meeting. Neither club involved will be able to vote on the matter.

Awarding Points

For each match the following points will be awarded:

3 points for an overall home win

4 points for an away win

2 points for each club for a halved match

Half a point for each halved game
